MY WRITING LIFE: Cara’s Guest Post on Author Patricia Stoltey’s Blog
As I prepare for the November 15 launch of my book, They Only Eat Their Husbands: A Memoir of Alaskan Love, World Travel, and the Power of Running Away, it seems as if I find authors lurking around every corner. This might sound intimidating, but I find it comforting, connecting with so many people who understand why I’ve chosen the weird, simultaneously secret and public, life of a writer. Mystery novelist Patricia Stoltey is one of those who understands. This fellow-Coloradan is the author of The Prairie Grass Murders (2007) and The Desert Hedge Murders (2009). She’s also a blogger who shares her thoughts on writing and Colorado authors, and today she has kindly invited me to guest post on her blog to share some of the secrets of My Writing Life. I hope you’ll drop by Patricia’s blog to read my writer’s confession. After that, remember, you can now order your own copy of They Only Eat Their Husbands from Ghost Road Press.

It is great to connect with other writers, and it appears you’ll be doing much more of that in the near future. Good luck with the launch of your book. Very exciting!

Thanks so much for visiting, Jenny, and for the good wishes. I hope you’ll come back and share your thoughts on adventure. If you’d be interested in writing a guest post, let me know. I look forward to staying connected!

Great post, Cara! If you’re looking for other places to do a blog book tour, you might talk to my friend Sybil Baker. She did one when her novel came out.

Thanks so much for telling me about Sybil, Beth. I just read a description of her new book, “Talismans,” and it looks like just the kind of novel I love to read. Ah, the stack just keeps getting higher.
I’m going to post her link & I’ll see if we might do a guest blog exchange. Wow, releasing a book is like riding a wild bull: it’s going fast and bouncing me all over the place and it feels like I’m going to get thrown off any moment… but very exciting.
